The second phase of polling for the 2019 lok sabha election concluded today. As of now, the voter turnout is recorded at around 65%. In the third phase, 115 constituencies will go for polling. Among the states that will vote in third phase is Jammu and Kashmir. In the last five year, jammu and Kashmir saw violence at its peak. The stone pelting incidents increased, the number of security personnel killed also increased. Politically too the state remained volatile. After the Assembly election, two parties with completely opposite ideologies BJP and PDP came together to form a government. However, this government could not survive the ups and dons in the coalition and finally broke away last year resulting in the collapse of the government. Since then the state is under governor’s rule and then president’s rulee since december last year.
