Congress leader and national spokesperson, Priyanka Chaturvedi today resigned from the party. Two Days before she had expressed unhappiness against the Congress party after its Uttar Pradesh unit revoked the suspension of leaders who misbehaved with her. While there is no official announcement about this, however, Chaturvedi has removed the designation of āINC National Spokespersonā from her Twitter bio overnight along with no mention of the Congress party. According to sources, she may join Shivsena. Chaturvedi famous for her verbal skills during debates has been one of the star spokesperson for the party. If reports are to be believed, she was upset with party not considering her for the North Mumbai constituency. The seat was instead offered to Urmila Matondkar. Matondkar is now contesting against BJP’s Gopal shetty.
Earlier Chaturvedi had expressed her unhappiness against the Congress party and wrote,ā Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get preference in Congress over those who have given their sweat&blood. Having faced brickbats&abuse across the board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate.”
