Bhagwa JNU: In An Another, Hindu Sena Hoist Saffron Flag, Posters At JNU Gate

New Delhi: The Hindu Sena, a right-wing organization, allegedly raised a saffron flag at the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s main entrance on Friday, April 15. The group is also accused of posting posters around campus with the words “bhagwa JNU” (saffron JNU) printed on them.

The news follows after a campus brawl at JNU on Ram Navami, in which Left-wing students and members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad got into a fight on April 10. While Leftist students claimed that they were denied access to non-vegetarian food in the hostel on Ram Navami, ABVP members claimed that Leftist students were blocking them from celebrating the holiday.

On the basis of a complaint from certain students, police have filed a FIR against anonymous ABVP members. Members of the ABVP have also filed police complaints. Despite being physically challenged, one of the kids claimed he was attacked.

The JNU administration has launched an independent investigation into the incident and has warned students that they may face consequences. The university has also asked students to retain a sense of calm.

The flags were “promptly removed,” according to DCP South West Manoj C. “Some flags and banners were placed along the road outside JNU today, which we noticed.” “These were removed quickly, and appropriate legal action is being taken,” he stated.

Source of Education Ministry told ANI that Ministry on Monday took note of unrest in Jawaharlal Nehru University Campus and had asked the administration to submit details of the entire incident.

Meanwhile, the newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor Prof Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit on Wednesday said JNU is a nationalist institution and not “Tukde-Tukde” as there is public perception
