Karauli Riots: BJP Leader Writes Letter To CM, Alleges Authorities Are Biased And Will Protest For Justice

Karauli: BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena has lashed out at the government over the issue of stone pelting at the New Year rally in Karauli. Kirodi Lal Meena is protesting in Karauli District Collectorate premises. On the issue, Kirodi alleged that the authorities are being biased and said that she will be protesting till fair decision will be taken.

According to MP Kirodi, people in many parts of Karauli are scared and fleeing. Kirodi Lal Meena also released the list of 195 people fleeing and said that the divisional commissioners are still denying the news of people leaving Karauli. But many families from Jatav, Khatik, Dhobi, Kumhar, Kahar and other societies have fled the area. Kirodi Lal Meena has handed over the list of families fleeing till April 8 this year.

Regarding these riots, the MP has written to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He has made six demands before the CM. He has said that people of Dalit community are afraid of staying here and hence are leaving. Police is torturing people. Section 144 has been imposed due to the riots. Kirodi questions that how will people celebrate festivals if section 144 will be active. Kirodi has also demanded recovery of the stolen goods by the sub-divisions and to effectively curb the PFI which was spoiling the atmosphere in the area.

Section 144 has been imposed in the entire district except Kaila Devi Mela precinct. The administration has appealed to the public for cooperation and any untoward incident has been asked to be reported to the control room set up by the district police. So far 29 people have been arrested in the Karauli riot case. Efforts are being made to arrest the rest. Curfew continues in Karauli after arson, vandalism and disturbance after stone pelting at bike rally. The curfew will continue till April 10. Curfew has been relaxed for 4 hours today. All types of shops were allowed to open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
