“U-turn will be named after Uddhav Thackeray, Chandrakant Patil’s dig at CM

But now CM Uddhav Thackeray must have understood that there is a difference between announcement and implementation,” Patil said

Mumbai: Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil took a dig at state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday, accusing him taking a U-turn on farm loan waiver assurance.

Chief Minister had given assurance for a complete loan waiver, Patil said, speaking to media. “But he announced loan waiver up to only Rs 2 lakh. We know that there are a few limitations.

But now CM Uddhav Thackeray must have understood that there is a difference between announcement and implementation,” Patil said.

“U-turn will now be known as Uddhav Thackeray turn,” he said.

The BJP and the ShivSena fought the assembly elections together, but their alliance collapsed after the latter walked out and joined hands with the Congress and the NCP to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in November-end. Since then, the former allies have been taking a dig at each other.

On Wednesday, Thackeray took a jibe at BJP and his predecessor Devendra Fadnavis, saying Pawar had taught him how to “form a government with fewer members of MLAs in the legislative assembly”.

This was in response to the comments by Former CM Devendra Fadnavis that the BJP was the single largest party in the Maharashtra assembly.

Sharad Pawar is considered the chief architect of the current ruling alliance, the first such arrangement at the state-level in Maharashtra’s politics.
