Mumbai: BJP MLA Nitesh Rane criticised Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wedbesday for supporting NCP leader and Minorities Affairs Minister Nawab Malik who was sumonned by ED for questioning in a land deal.
Recalling 1993 Mumbai blasts, Nitesh Rane said Malik’s name is linked to those anti social elements. “Mr Raut, it looks like you have forgotten 1993 blasts after assuming power. In the blasts 257 Mummbaikars lost their lives and 731 got injured. Dawood Ibrahim was responsible for the blasts was proved during the Congress governtment. Today, Malik is linked to these traitors, ” he said.
The BJP MLA further said “instead of demanding a thorough probe in the matter, you are supporting Malik. It is a betrayal with the country, with Bharat Mata. With these sentiments, do not call Mumbai as your own city,” Rane said.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday questioned Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik in connection with a money laundering case registered against fugitive Don Dawood Ibrahim, his gang, and prompted Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar to call the questioning another example of misuse of central agencies.
Two weeks back Mr Malik had slammed Centre for trying to topple the state government and said the Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena and Congress will not only continue to govern Maharashtra but will also come to power at the Centre by dislodging the BJP.
