PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi And Many Others Pay Tribute To The Demise Of Legendary Singer Lata Mangeshkar

Mumbai: Lata Mangeshkar, who was known as the ‘Queen of Melody’ and the ‘Nightingale of India,’ passed away on Sunday morning in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. The singer breathed her last at 8:12 am.The singer’s family will let friends and fans pay homage at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

Over the last few weeks, Lata Mangeshkar’s family members as well as the doctor treating her at Breach Candy Hospital were updating fans about her health. An official health bulletin was also being shared with the media. Lata Mangeshkar’s demise has left a massive void in the Indian music fraternity and the nation shocked and saddened.

On the demise of legendary Singer PM Modi took to twitter and paid tribute on her demise, also expressing his anguish.”I am anguished beyond words. The kind and caring Lata Didi has left us. She leaves a void in our nation that cannot be filled. The coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture, whose melodious voice had an unparalleled ability to mesmerise people.” Pm tweeted.

Taking to twitter Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also took to twitter and expressed his grief,”Received the sad news of Lata Mangeshkar ji’s demise. She remained the most beloved voice of India for many decades.Her golden voice is immortal and will continue to echo in the hearts of her fans.My condolences to her family, friends and fans.” Gandhi tweeted.

President Ramnath Kovind also tweeted on India’s Nightingale Demise “Lata-ji’s demise is heart-breaking for me, as it is for millions the world over. In her vast range of songs, rendering the essence and beauty of India, generations found expression of their inner-most emotions. A Bharat Ratna, Lata-ji’s accomplishments will remain incomparable.” President tweeted.

According to ANI, there will be a Two-day national mourning to be observed in memory of Lata Mangeshkar. The National flag to fly at half-mast for two days, as a mark of respect.
