PM Modi To Attend Lata Mangeshkar’s Funeral

Mumbai: Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar, passes away at the age of 92. She was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier last month. She was suffering from covid and pneumonia. On January 30 she had recovered from both. But doctors on February 5 said that her health was deteriorating. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the funeral of Lata Mangeshkar today. 

PM Narendra Modi is reported to come to Mumbai to pay homage to Lata Mangeshkar at Shivaji Park at her State funeral. He is said to land in the city at 4:30 pm.

Apart from Narendra Modi NCP president Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will visit Prabhu Kunj, the residence of late singer Lata Mangeshkar. Shiv Sena leader Anil Desai mourns demise of Lata Mangeshkar, says legendary singer to be cremated with full state honour.

Indian Film Director Ashutosh Gowariker, Writer Javed Akhtar, Actor Shraddha Kapoor, have reached the residence of Lata Mangeshkar for paying their respects. 

The beloved singer’s mortal remains have been taken to her residence, Prabha Kunj, reported Indian Express. 

Many big personalities mourn on the loss of the singing world. 

Actor Salman Khan tweeted, “U will be missed our nightingale. But ur voice shall live with us forever … #RIPLataji”

On her demise, Mumtaz has been left heartbroken. Mumtaz revealed that she had spoken to Asha Bhosle from London only last night. She told me, “Didi is stable. Lataji had become a bit stable yesterday. Post that, I thought I would be at peace. Little did I know that the sad news was only a few hours away. Actually, I had left several text messages on Ashaji’s phone but she hadn’t answered them. All that had made me more anxious,” she said.

On her demise, singer Kailash Kher tweeted and said that he was blessed to get an opportunity to work with her.
