Srinagar, Mar 12: Police today arrested JKLF (Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front) Chief Mohammed Yasin Malik from his residence in Maisuma, Srinagar.
“Yasin Sahab was arrested from his home this morning and was lodged at Kothi Bagh police station,” said a JKLF spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was put under house arrest today to prevent him from leading any protest against the killing of three militants in Hakoora village of Anantnag district in South Kashmir.
The authorities fear that the pro-freedom leadership would lead protest rallies in Srinagar city against the killing of three militants in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
