I have committed no mistake: Chandrababu Naidu on CBI probe demand

Slamming the opposition, Naidu remarked that they are not bothered about the rights of the masses but are keen on taking revenge from him.

Lashing out at the Opposition on the demand of a CBI investigation into the alleged financial indiscretions regarding an irrigation scheme, N Chandrababu Naidu, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister today said that his life is an open book and has done nothing wrong.

Naidu also accused the YSR Congress along with the BJP of plotting a ‘conspiracy’ against him.

Naidu retorting at Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the finance minister who during a teleconference with the Chief Minister had made a reference to the demand of YSRC for a CBI investigation against Naidu, stated the release.

Ramakrishnudu had also raised the demand of BJP yesterday in the state assembly for a CBI investigation into the “financial irregularities” in the Pattisam lift irrigation scheme. Quoting the TDP chief, the press release read, “YSRC MP V Vijayasai Reddy said he would continue to meet the Prime Minister till he dragged me to the court. This itself reveals their conspiracy against me”.

Moreover, Naidu was quoted as apprising it to his finance minister, “My life is an open book. I have committed no mistake”.

Slamming the opposition, he remarked that they are not bothered about the rights of the masses but are keen on taking revenge from him.

During his teleconference with the Chief Minister, the finance minister feared that a conspiracy may be brewing so as to seize the execution of the Polavaram project as well.

Naidu retaliating to this said, he would not accept any anti-farmer design by anyone.

He further said that the farmers themselves would stand against any kind of act or move like this and added, “We will not tolerate if anything detrimental to farmers’ interest happens.”

Naidu called in for a protest that would be of “Japanese style” for making more efforts so that the state can be led on the path of development.

He added, “Everyone should work daily for two hours extra and protest for an hour. While fighting with the Centre (on demand for special status to the state), we must ensure that the state’s development too is not hampered”.

It was yesterday that the BJP had demanded for an inquiry by the CBI or by sitting a judge into the “large-scale financial misappropriation” in the implementation of the Pattisam lift irrigation scheme for the Godavari river.

Quoting a report by the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General), P Vishnu Kumar Raju, BJP floor leader stated that around 371 crores were allegedly misappropriated in the implementation scheme.
