Diplomats reported at least 550 Hajj pilgrims died amid scorching heat, with temperatures soaring. Among the deceased, 323 were Egyptians, mostly succumbing to heat-related illnesses, according to two Arab diplomats. One Egyptian died from injuries in a minor crowd crush. The total figures were confirmed by a hospital morgue in Mecca.
