A powerful 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck near the coast of Peru’s Arequipa region on Friday, with no reported fatalities. Eight people were injured, according to David Aponte, Chief of Disaster Risk Management and National Defense. After the quake, four aftershocks between 4.0 and 4.6 magnitude caused landslides on local roads.
