Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi extended his greetings towards Bangladesh’s people and its government on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha. He wrote a letter to Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus.
Bangladesh’s Leader Greets India After PM Modi’s Greeting
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s chief advisor also wrote a letter in response to PM Modi’s letter. On Sunday, the interim government shared both the letters together on X.
Yunus wrote in his letter that Modi’s letter “reflects the shared values” that both the countries have between them. He also wished both the Indian Prime Minister and India’s people the best.
Yunus began, “I deeply appreciate your thoughtful message, kind greetings and warm wishes on the occasion of Eid-al-Azha, which reflects the shared values between our two countries. I would also like to extend my warmest greetings to you and through you to the people of India, on this auspicious occasion.”
The letter then continued, “Eid-ul-Adha is a time of reflection, which brings communities together in the spirit of festivity, sacrifice, generosity and unity, and inspires us all to work together for the greater benefits of the peoples across the world.”
The letter then read, “I am confident that the spirit of mutual respect and understanding will continue to guide our nations to work together for the wellbeing of our peoples.”
“On this blessed occasion, I wish you, Excellency, good health and happiness and the people of India peace, progress, and prosperity,” the letter continued.
“Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,” his letter ended.
PM Modi Greets Bangladesh On Eid-al-Adha
In his letter, Modi wrote, “On behalf of the people and the Government of India, I convey warm greetings to you and the people of Bangladesh on the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Adha.”
“This holy festival is an integral part of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India and is celebrated with immense joy and fervour by millions of people of Islamic faith across the country. It reminds us of the timeless values of sacrifice, compassion and brotherhood, which are essential in building a peaceful and inclusive world,” Modi added.
It then read, “I take this opportunity to extend my best wishes for your good health and well-being.”
“With assurances of my highest consideration,” the letter concluded.
This comes shortly after both countries had tensions among one another. These greetings seem to have lightened the mood between both nations.
