Over 1,000 pilgrims died during this year’s Hajj due to intense heat in Mecca, with temperatures reaching 49°C (120°F), AFP reported. Thousands are being treated for heatstroke. More than half of the deceased were unregistered, including 630 out of 658 Egyptian pilgrims, according to an Arab diplomat.
