The Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued notices to Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, BM Parvathi, regarding the Mysore Urban Development Authority (Muda) scam investigation.
The ED started investigating the Muda land allotment scam in October 2024. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife BM Parvathi, and her brother BM Mallikarjunaswamy are the prime accused.
Following that, the ED issued notices to the Karnataka Chief Minister and conducted raids on the Karnataka offices and residences of close associates of Siddaramaiah.
“Regarding the legal process, when Yediyurappa was the Chief Minister, notices came from the CBI, ED, and Lokayukta. It is a regular legal process, not influenced by the state or central government. We are not commenting further on that,” Karnataka Leader of the Opposition R Ashok.
Nevertheless, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar called it politically motivated.
DCM DK Shivakumar stated, “Two agencies cannot conduct investigations simultaneously. The same thing also happened in my case. When the Lokayukta is already investigating, how can the CBI conduct an investigation? No two agencies can do an investigation simultaneously; this is all political witch hunt.”
