100 Covid Patients Missing From Mumbai, Police Launches Search

Additional commissioner Suresh Kakani, while talking to the Mumbai Mirror, said there are about 100 patients missing or untraceable at any given time.

Mumbai| According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, around 100 patients are missing or untraceable at any given time, because of the incorrect addresses and phone numbers provided by patients, either due to the fear or mistake by labs.

While the figures of Covid-19 patients in Mumbai are surging at a rapid speed, authorities have another reason to worry about- missing and untraceable patients. Such mishap happens when those getting tested do no provide their correct address or contact numbers or the testing labs make mistakes while taking the details.

Additional commissioner Suresh Kakani, while talking to the Mumbai Mirror, said there are about 100 patients missing or untraceable at any given time.

He said, “This happens because of several reasons, the prime one being wrong details of patients entered. We have other ways of tracking such persons. We search the property card records or even look at the voters list to track such people. On Monday, I was taking a review of Bandra East area and found that companies had gotten their employees tested and given their address as Bandra East and it became difficult to track individual persons.”

BMC officers have also asked for details of such people from the Unique Identification Authority of India (Aadhaar), but they haven’t got the access yet.
