149 Flights To Bring Back Indians From 31 Countries From May 16-22

India will deploy at least 149 flights in its second phase of Vande Bharat mission from May 16 to May 22 to bring back Indians stranded in 31 nations.

New Delhi: The second phase of Vande Bharat Mission – bringing back Indians from various countries stranded due to the COVID-19-induced lockdown.

The second phase will be launched from May 16 to May 22.

149 flights, including feeder flights, will be deployed to bring back people from 31 countries, sources said.

This is bigger than the first phase, where 64 flights from 12 countries are operating.

Air India & Air India Express are scheduled to operate 64 flights between 7 and 14 May to bring in approximately 15,000 Indians stranded in 12 countries.

Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express have operated 31 inbound flights during the first five days of the Vande Bharat mission, bringing home 6,037 Indians stranded in various countries.

New countries from where flights will operate to bring back Indians are France, Germany, Italy, Ireland Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Belarus Canada Australia Japan Bahrain Armenia Nepal Nigeria.
