The decision was made after it was found that the woman who died at the hospital was admitted after submitting false information.
New Delhi| As a precautionary measure, at least 68 healthcare workers at Delhi’s Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital (BMH), have been put under quarantine.
This decision comes after it was found that a 25-year-old pregnant patient, who is suspected to have had coronavirus, died on Wednesday night at the hospital, failed to reveal her ‘home-quarantine’ status to the hospital officials.
It is alleged that the patient did not disclose that she had travelled abroad recently and had been asked to be under home quarantine.
Her condition deteriorated on Wednesday and she was then put on a ventilator, the hospital says.
She later told doctors that she had returned from a foreign visit and came in touch with travellers who were infected with the COVID-19. She also said that 4 members of her family were asked to practice home quarantine from April 10 to 24 by the DM.
Her samples have been sent for testing and the results are expected on April 17, an official said. The healthcare workers at the hospital will be allowed to resume duty if the samples come back negative.
