New Delhi | National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will continue with his role in the new government at Centre and was given Cabinet rank in Modi Sarkar 2.0.
The Government reappointed him from the Minister of State to a Cabinet. According to reports, he was promoted to credit him for all the work he has done for the government.
The 74-year-old Ajit Doval earlier headed the Intelligence Bureau (IB) before retirement. Doval took on the new role of NSA in 2014.
Doval’s appointment will be for five years.
Some credit Doval for his crucial role in negotiations in the Balakot Airstrikes aftermath when IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan was captured.
He is also credited for his contributions between India-China standoff in Doklam in 2017 when the two countries were engaged in an intense border war.
