Akhilesh Yadav’s Wife Tests Positive For Covid, Is Fully Vaccinated

Lucknow: Former Samajwadi Party MP and Samajwadi Party’s Chief Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav has been tested positive for Covid. In a tweet, the wife of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said she is fully vaccinated; however, she is in self-isolation.

“I got a Covid test is done, whose report is positive. I am fully vaccinated and not showing any symptoms. For the safety of myself and others, I have isolated myself,” Mrs. Yadav tweeted in Hindi.

“All the people who have met me recently are requested to get their test done soon,” she said.

It is not known whether Akhilesh Yadav has got himself vaccinated. He had said he would get vaccinated after his father Mulayam Singh Yadav decided to get the jab.

Akhilesh Yadav has been campaigning across UP for the assembly election just months away. He is also likely to get himself tested. He and Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Jayant Chaudhary are scheduled to address a joint rally in Aligarh tomorrow.

In January this year, Akhilesh Yadav had said he won’t get himself injected with a “BJP vaccine”, a comment that drew sharp criticism from leaders of the ruling party. The Samajwadi Party chief had then tried to make amends on Twitter the same day, saying he was not referring to scientists.

“I have never raised any questions on any scientist developing the vaccine or any person helping in making the vaccine. I only raised questions on the BJP as people do not have faith in the party because of the decisions taken by it,” Akhilesh Yadav had said.

No Evidence Of Extortion Found In Aryan Khan Case

Ashmita Chhabria

Mumbai: On Wednesday, Mumbai Police has stated that they have not found any evidence of extortion in the Aryan Khan Case. “Investigation of alleged extortion matter in connection with drugs on cruise case halted until next order. Mumbai Police had constituted SET (Special Enquiry Team) to investigate and had questioned around 20 people. No case registered so far as no evidence found yet,” Mumbai Police said, according to the report.

For probing the extortion angle, Mumbai Police has formed a special team after Narcotics Control Bureau’s independent witness Prabhakar Sail alleged he had overheard a phone conversation about a demand of ₹25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan.

According to reports, SRK’s manager Pooja Dadlani paid the amount but it was returned to her after Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3. The Police have also reportedly checked CCTV evidence which primarily suggested that SRK’s manager Pooja Dadlani met KP Gosavi, Sam D’Souza to pay that amount.

The investigation has not moved much ahead, A senior Mumbai police officer said, as of now no inquiry report has been submitted and the team is waiting for some documents.

The NCB also constitute a team to probe the extortion allegations against the agency. Meanwhile, Sameer Wankhede’s term as the Mumbai zone chief of the Narcotics Control Bureau will come to an end on December 31 as the embattled NCB officer has not sought an extension of his term. The drugs case has been transferred to NCB SIT and Aryan Khan has been relieved from marking his regular attendance in the NCB Mumbai office every Friday in connection with the case.

The NCB and its zonal director Sameer Wankhede had approached a special court against the allegations of extortion in the drugs seizure case.

NCB and Wankhede in their affidavits said this was an attempt to create hurdles and scuttle the investigation in the case.
