Arnab Goswami Sent To 14 Day Judicial Custody, Another FIR Registered For Allegedly Assaulting Female Police Officer

Arnab Goswami, the Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Alibaug court in connection with the abetment to suicide case. He has not been sent to police custody. Arnab Goswami will remain in judicial custody till 18 November.

The Republic TV editor arrested on Wednesday morning for allegedly abetting the interior designer for suicide, was later charged with another FIR for allegedly assaulting a woman police officer. He is accused of allegedly assaulting a female police officer on Wednesday morning when police arrived at her residence. A case has been registered against Goswami in NM Joshi police station under sections 353,504 and 34 of IPC.

Apart from this, the court also rebuked Arnab Goswami for using the phone inside the court and broadcasting the proceedings live.

Goswami had claimed that the police misbehaved with him at his house. He claimed that they physically assaulted him and dragged him.
