Asaduddin Owaisi demands 3 yr punishment for calling Indian Muslims a “Pakistani”

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in Lok Sabha demanded to bring a law to punish those who call Indian Muslims a “Pakistani”.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen popularly known as AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded to bring a law which punishes those who call Indian Muslim a “Pakistani”. He put his demand in front of Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

Talking about his demand, he said that if anyone calls Indian Muslims a “Pakistani” he should be sentenced to a jail term of three years.

Owaisi earlier had voted against Triple Talaq bill tabled in the parliament by Law Minister Ravishankar Prasad. He had also suggested two inventions to the bill, however, he received no votes in his favour. He also displayed strong opposition to the punishment introduced for the instant triple talaq.

The AIMIM chief’s comments come days after Bareilly’s district magistrate (DM) questioned the “trend” to “enter Muslim localities by force, raise anti-Pakistan slogans and then create a ruckus”.

However, a day after Asaduddin Owaisi’s demand BJP MP Vinay Katiyar said that there should be a law to punish those who don’t sing Vande Mataram and insult the National Flag.
He further added that those who furl Pakistan’s flag should be given strict punishment. “If people are accepting countries on basis of religion, then Muslims should not stay in the country. Rather, such people should go to Pakistan and Bangladesh,” he said.

“Why should such people stay in India?” Katiyar asked.
