“Bihar Set To Re-elect NDA,” Says PM Modi Amid Second Phase Of Voting

The comments by the prime minister came in the wake of voting in 94 of the state’s 243 assembly seats for the second phase of the three-phased state elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning, in his fourth visit to the poll-bound state of Bihar, said Bihar is set to re-elect the NDA (National Democratic Alliance). The comments by the prime minister came in the wake of voting in 94 of the state’s 243 assembly seats for the second phase of the three-phased state elections.

“Bihar has given a clear message, on the basis of the initial information we’re getting, that the state is set to re-elect the NDA government. Voters here have decided they’ll take the state to newer heights,” PM Narendra Modi said at a rally in Araria.

PM Modi also said that the return of “double-engine” government will help the state progress at a faster pace, taking a potshot at the RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav over a reference he often uses to attack Chief Minister Nitsh Kumar – the face of the NDA.

“Some people have a problem… they say ‘why does Modi win elections’… Modi wins elections because he works to resolve the issues of all the (poor) mothers and sisters… That’s why, they bless Modi… This son has dedicated his life for the poor,” PM Modi added, taking a jibe at Congress, which he said “has reached a stage where they don’t even have a total of 100 seats in parliament”.

“Today, nepotism (in politics) is being defeated and democracy is winning. Arrogance is losing, hard work is winning… corruption is losing, and people’s rights are winning again,” the PM further added.
