NCP chief Sharad Pawar had said that BJP does not want unity in the country, but we (Shiv Sena) could understand it only in 2019: Sanjay Raut
Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik, says that the Centre could be formed in 2024 under the leadership of party chief Sharad Pawar. He believes that if Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress can come together to form government at the state level then it can also be done in the next Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the event of Pawar’s 81st Birthday, Nawab Malik said, “In the last seven years, questions were raised like – Is there any alternative to PM Modi? Who will be an alternative to BJP?”
“If Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP can form a government under the leadership of Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra then in 2024, a government will be formed in the country under the leadership of Sharad Pawar,” he added.
The comments came hours after Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also heaped praise on Sharad Pawar’s and lauded him for understanding the true nature of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) much earlier.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Raut said, “Around 25 years ago, NCP chief Sharad Pawar had said that BJP does not want unity in the country, but we (Shiv Sena) could understand it only in 2019 and Shiv Sena took a “long time to realize” it.”
The Sena MP was speaking at a book launch where a collection of Sharad Pawar’s speeches in Marathi at various political rallies was released.
Raut further added that Pawar had said that BJP is dividing the country and is taking the country in the opposite direction.
Referring to the book’s title ‘Nemkechi Bolane’, Raut said the book should be gifted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he “needs to know certain things”. ‘Nemkechi Bolane’ roughly translates to speaking with brevity.
Shiv Sena severed ties with its ally Bharatiya Janata Party after the Maharashtra Assembly elections in 2019 over the chief ministerial post. Later, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party formed the government in the state with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress.
