Coronavirus Cases On The Rise Again, Kerala Accounts For 50% Of New Infections

Coronavirus figures in Kerala are now leading to a scare. More than 22000 cases are being reported daily here for the last 3 days.

 

New Delhi| Coronavirus cases in the country are once again on the rise. 44,667 infected people were identified on Thursday. At the same time, 42,107 patients recovered and 549 died. It is worrying that the number of new infections in the country is the highest in the last 24 days. Earlier on July 7, the corona report of 45,701 people turned out to be positive.

Meanwhile, Coronavirus figures in Kerala are now leading to a scare. More than 22000 cases are being reported daily here for the last 3 days. In the last 24 hours, 22,064 people reported positive. This figure is about half of the new cases in the country. Earlier, 22,129 cases were reported on July 27 and 22,056 on July 28.

Lockdown-like restrictions in 8 states

Owing to the rise in Covid-19 cases, lockdown-like restrictions are enforced in 8 states of the country. These include West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Mizoram, Goa and Puducherry. Strict restrictions have been imposed here as in previous lockdowns.

Partial lockdown in 23 States / UTs

There is partial lockdown in 23 states and union territories of the country. There is also a waiver with restrictions. These include Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat is included.
