Supreme Court asks central government to file affidavit disclosing Rafale deal price

New Delhi | The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the central government to file an affidavit within 10 days disclosing the price of Rafale fighter jets deal between India and France.

The Supreme Court bench consisting of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice KM Joseph and Justice UU Lalit hearing a petition seeking a CBI probe in the Indo France Rafael Deal into the alleged irregularities associated with the deal. The bench has directed the Union government to provide details about the pricing and the advantages about the deal within 10 days in a sealed cover.

The top court further asked the Centre to provide the related information with the parties, which it has shared with the Court. The bench has further asked the government to make available to all those details which should legitimately be in the public domain.

Replying to the demand of the Lawyer Prashant Bhushan’s for a CBI probe into the matter, CJI Ranjan Gogoi asked the investigation can wait but the court will first consider all the details about it.
