Total positive COVID-19 cases in India have climbed to 13,387, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
New Delhi| COVID-19 cases in India have surged to 13,387 including 437 deaths, according to the health ministry figures released on Friday morning.
The total cases include 11,201 active cases,1,749 cured or discharged and 1 migrated.
Maharashtra has recorded 194 fatalities, the highest in the country, followed by Madhya Pradesh at 53, Gujarat 36, Delhi 38 and Telengana 18.
The highest number of confirmed cases in the country are also from Maharashtra at 3,205. It is followed by Delhi at 1,640 and Tamil Nadu at 1,267. COVID-19 cases have gone up to 1131 in Rajasthan followed by 1,120 in Madhya Pradesh, 930 in Gujarat and 805 in Uttar Pradesh.
The ICMR on Thursday said that a total of 3.02 lakh samples from 2.86 lakh individuals have been tested so far for COVID-19. Also, India has received the 5 lakh rapid COVID-19 testing kits from China.
Around 10,500 isolation beds have been made available by the Indian Railways and 325 districts in India have no COVID-19 cases, stated the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.
The Central government is building a financial relief package to help the economy hit hard due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown, as per government sources.

Meanwhile, on a video press briefing, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that ‘a nationwide lockdown will only pause the deadly coronavirus, but not defeat it.’
Globally, the total number of COVID-19 cases has climbed above 21.57 lakh while fatalities have gone up to 1.44 lakh, as per data from Johns Hopkins University.
The US remains the worst affected country with 6.7 lakh cases and over 33,000 deaths.
