Day temperatures rise marginally in HP

Mercury rose by a few notches across Himachal Pradesh, while the minimum temperatures stayed marginally below normal even as the region had a dry and sunny day today.

Una in Shivalik foothills was hottest in the region with a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius, while Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Nahan recorded 37.2, 35.6 and 35.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.

They were followed by Solan (32.4), Dharamsala (31.8), Kalpa (21.6) and Keylong (17.4).

The minimum temperatures stayed below normal in tribal areas and higher hills, as Keylong and Manali recorded a low of 2.3 and 5.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Bhuntar was cooler with a low of 11.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar (13.9), Shimla (15.7), Solan (16.6), Palampur (17.5), Una (19), Dharamsala (20.2) and Nahan (21.1).

The meteorological office has predicted dry weather in lower, mid and higher hills for six days from tomorrow onwards with gradual rise in day temperatures.

With temperatures rising in plains, tourists are rushing to Shimla and other tourist destinations.
