Delhi Court Acquits Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia In Chief Secy Assault Case

Then Chief Secretary Mr Prakash had alleged that he was assaulted during a meeting at Kejriwal’s official residence on February 19, 2018.

A Delhi Court, in connection with a 2018 case related to the assault on Delhi’s then Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, acquitted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and nine other Aam Aadmi Party MLAs on Wednesday.

Manish Sisodia, reacting to the court’s decision, said: “It’s a day of victory of justice and truth. The court said that all allegations in the matter were false and baseless, the Chief Minister was acquitted today in that false case. We had been saying that the allegations were false. It was a conspiracy hatched against the Chief Minister.”

However, the court has ordered framing of charges against AAP MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal.

The police had booked Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and nine of the MLAs for criminal conspiracy, whereas Prakash Jarwar and Amanatullah Khan were accused of attacking and intimidating a public servant.

The then Chief Secretary Mr Prakash had alleged that he was assaulted during a meeting at Kejriwal’s official residence on February 19, 2018.

The issue of an assault on the administrative officer had triggered a bitter tussle between the Delhi government and its bureaucrats back then.
