Delhi HC to hear plea against Sajjan Kumar in 1984 Anti-Sikh riots case

New Delhi | The Delhi High Court on Tuesday will hear appeals filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and victims against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar acquittal in the Anti Sikh Riots of 1984in Delhi.

Earlier in March, the Delhi High Court received a letter petition containing CD stating confession of Sajjan Kumar accepting his role in instigating the connection in the similar case. The High Court asked the Congress leader to file a reply on the petition. The victims expected relief from the court in the petition filed in 2013.

Asper official data, more the 2800 people belonging to the Sikh community were killed in India during the anti-Sikh riots after the then prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards.
