Last month, Kanimozhi had attacked the BJP questioning the party whether it will support all Hindus by helping non-brahmins become priests in temples.
Kanimozhi, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader, on Sunday said she was asked if she was an Indian by a CISF officer at the airport. She said she was asked this after she told the officer that she does not know Hindi.
“From when did being an Indian is equal to speaking in Hindi,” Kanimozhi asked on twitter.
“Today at the airport a CISF officer asked me if “I am an Indian” when I asked her to speak to me in tamil or English as I did not know Hindi. I would like to know from when being indian is equal to knowing Hindi,” she posted through her Twitter handle.

DMK’s 52-year-old Kanimozhi scripted her first win in a general election in 2019. She defeated her BJP rival by over 3.47 lakh in Thoothukkudi constituency.
Earlier, right before Loksabha polls in 2019, election officials held searches at the residence of DMK leader Kanimozhi in Tuticorin in south Tamil Nadu from where she was contesting.
Official sources indicated that the searches were held following “some inputs,” but they did not elaborate. Income Tax officials were also “assisting” the local poll officials, they told PTI. The outcome of the searches was not known immediately.
Following information about the searches, a large number of DMK workers gathered in front of Kanimozhi’s house expressing solidarity.
