In addition to India, Trump wants to include Russia, South Korea and Australia in the G7.

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke over a phone call on Tuesday with US President Donald Trump. Several issues were discussed between the two leaders for more than 25 minutes. Meanwhile, Donald Trump invited PM Modi to attend the meeting of G7 countries. The two leaders spoke on issues such as violence in the US, tensions on the Indo-China border, the Corona virus epidemic and the reform of the World Health Organization. There have been many points of negotiation that have upset China. Whether it is about expanding the G7 or border tension.

G7 Expansion:

In addition to India, Trump wants to include Russia, South Korea and Australia in the G7. Some experts say that the intention of Trump is to reduce the value of G20 of which China is also a member. Actually, relations between China and America are at the lowest. Trump has stopped funding WHO alleging its inclination towards China. On Tuesday, he invited PM Modi for the G7. Modi praised Trump’s opinion and said that the two leader will work together.

America is not happy with China’s antics on the border

Modi and Trump also discussed the situation at the India-China border. It also appears in the statement issued by the Indian government that the United States is unhappy with China’s intrusion on LAC. Senior US officials have also held similar views. Trump had recently claimed talks with Modi about this, which was rejected by the Ministry of External Affairs.

India and China will hold a top level military meeting on 6 June, in which the way of ending tension on the eastern Ladakh border will be discussed. China, on the other hand, has prepared to set up a 1,124 MW power project in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). India opposes this project.

In a conversation with Modi, Trump recalled his February visit to India. PM Modi said that the visit to Trump was historic in many ways. He later tweeted that he “had a meaningful conversation with his friend President Donald Trump amidst the warmth. We discussed his plans for the G7 as the US president, the Covid-19 epidemic and many other issues.”
