Farmers’ Leaders said all the national highways including Jaipur-Delhi and Agra-Delhi highways will be jammed.
New Delhi| Today is the 15th day of the farmers’ agitation against the new agricultural laws. The government’s written attempt to persuade the farmers after 6 rounds of talks also failed on Wednesday. The government had sent a 22-page proposal, including changes in agricultural laws, to the farmers, but the farmers rejected the government proposal outright and said that the movement would now intensify. They said all the national highways including Jaipur-Delhi and Agra-Delhi highways will be jammed. Farmers’ leaders have said that they will call for another nationwide strike on December 14.
Farmer leader Shiv Kumar Kakka said that If the three farm laws are not scrapped, the farmers will block all the roads leading to Delhi one by one. He also termed the govt proposal an “insult” of farmers.
Meanwhile, another proposal of the government will also be awaited.
The government rejected the biggest demand of the farmers, out of 10 important issues, that is, the repeal of the Agricultural Law. It said that it will give clarification on 5 issues and assured to change the existing system on 4 issues.
In 2010 a committee was formed under the leadership of the then Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupendra Hooda. The government has mentioned the names of Hooda and former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, while the committee also included the chief ministers of Bengal, Bihar and Maharashtra.
Union Minister said- China-Pakistan’s hand in peasant movement
If the government is adamant on not withdrawing the law, the farmers are also firm on their stand. Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Food Supplies, Raosaheb Danve said that China and Pakistan have a hand in the farmers’ movement. Danve said that Muslims were first instigated on the issue of CAA and NRC. When these efforts failed, now farmers are being encouraged. The Union Minister said this on Wednesday at the health center’s inauguration program in Aurangabad.
