“For Cheaper Petrol, Go To Taliban” : Says BJP MP Leader When Asked About Fuel Price Rise

“Petrol is ₹ 50 (per liter) in Afghanistan, but no one uses it. Go and get some oil from there, ” BJP leader said.

A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh, when asked about rising inflation in the country and skyrocketing petrol-diesel prices, advised a journalist to go to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. Ramratan Payal, head of the BJP’s district unit in Katni district, said this when questions about rising petrol prices were being asked.

The BJP leader and his supporters gathered were seen hardly seen following the Covid-19 Guidelines.

In a video going viral on social media, a local reporter is seen asking questions about rising prices and petrol rates. As soon as he heard the question, the BJP leader lost his temper and said, “Bring oil from the Taliban. Petrol is ₹ 50 (per liter) in Afghanistan, but no one uses it. Go and get some oil from there. At least here (in India) there is security. ”

Talking about rising inflation, Payal said, “The third wave of corona virus is likely to come to the country and you are talking about petrol. You can’t see what crisis the country is going through.”

Let me tell you that the price of petrol has reached Rs 100 per liter, while the price of diesel has reached around Rs 90 in most of the states across the country. The recently concluded Parliament session saw several disruptions with the opposition demanding a discussion on inflation and rising fuel prices in the country.
