Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s Health Deteriorates, Currently Under ‘Septic Shock’

Earlier, on Sunday, the hospital reported that the former president Pranab Mukherjee is undergoing treatment for a lung infection but his condition is stable.

 

New Delhi| The health of former President Pranab Mukherjee worsened on Monday. The Army Hospital where he is admitted said in a statement that Mukherjee is currently under “Septic Shock” due to lung infection. A team is monitoring his health. He is in a deep coma and on ventilator support.

The blood circulation in the body is affected due to septic shock. This causes swelling throughout the body and Blood clots are formed. The body does not get enough oxygen. Earlier, on Sunday, the hospital reported that the former president is undergoing treatment for a lung infection. His condition is stable.

Pranab Mukherjee was hospitalized on 10 August

The former president was admitted to the Army Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital in Delhi on 10 August. The emergency was performed on the same day to remove clotting from the brain. Since then, his condition remained critical. Pranab had also said that on the 10th itself he should be corona positive.
