Former Rajya Sabha MP Chandan Mitra No More, Swapan Dasgupta Pays Tribute To ‘Friend’

Chandan Mitra reached Rajya Sabha from BJP quota. He left BJP and joined TMC in 2018.

 

Dr. Chandan Mitra, editor of Pioneer and former Rajya Sabha MP, passed away late on Wednesday night. Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta informed about his death. He tweeted, “I lost my closest friend – Pioneer editor and former MP Chandan Mitra this morning. We were together as students at La Martiniere and went to St Stephen’s and Oxford. We joined journalism at the same time and shared the enthusiasm of Ayodhya and the saffron wave.”

Chandan Mitra reached Rajya Sabha from BJP quota. He left BJP and joined TMC in 2018.

Chandan Mitra had recently resigned from the post of printer and publisher of ‘Pioneer’ newspaper. He was replaced by Narendra Kumar.
