GHMC Election Results: BJP Loses Early Lead, AIMIM Wins 20 Wards

When the postal ballot was being counted, the BJP surprised everyone. According to reports, BJP seemed racing ahead in the early postal ballots votes counting in GHMC elections.

 

After counting the 150 seats in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC Election) election, the main ballot count is now going on. The ruling TRS was leading in 65 seats, while BJP is leading in 41 and Owaisi’s party AIMIM stood at number three with 37 seats. The BJP, which won just 4 seats in the last elections, is seen to be performing well this time. In the 2016 elections, TRS won 99 seats and Owaisi’s AIMIM won 44 seats, while the Congress had only 2 wards.

Earlier, when the postal ballot was being counted, the BJP surprised everyone. According to reports, BJP seemed racing ahead in the early postal ballots votes counting. The BJP was leading in 87 seats, TRS in 33 seats and AIMIM in 17 seats. Significantly, during the election campaign, all the parties had made a heel peak but in order to gain a foothold in Owaisi’s stronghold, the BJP for the first time exercised all the strength. All the big leaders including Shah, Nadda and Yogi campaigned.

TRS leads in results so far

TRS has won 30 seats out of 150 seats in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC Election) election so far. Owaisi’s party AIMIM has won 20 seats. Whereas BJP has so far won 16 seats.
