Uttar Pradesh government issues order to ban plastic use from 15th July

Lucknow | The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday issued an order to ban the use of plastic in the state from 15th July.

Addressing the ‘Forest Festival’ in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki, CM Yogi Aditynath said, “We have decided to prohibit plastics in all states from July 15.” Asking for people’s participation towards the process CM Yogi said that “I invoke that after July 15, plastic cups, glass and polythene are not used at any level. This will require all participation.”

He further stated that “The state government strives to initiate a 9 crore tree plantation in the state by August 15. We would find trees that have medicinal properties or have religious significance. The campaign will ensure the participation of all Department and public representatives from schools, colleges along with the forest department.”
