Hardik Pandya lands in legal trouble for insulting Ambedkar

Reportedly, Hardik Pandya had written, “Which Ambedkar??? The one who drafted a cross law and constitution or the one who spread the disease called reservation in the country.”

The Indian Cricket team seemed to have been surrounded by the controversy clouds. After the bitter public fallout between Mohammad Shami and his wife Hasin Jahan that hit the cricket world, now another Indian Cricketer Hardik Pandya has landed into trouble. Hardik Pandya has been booked for his comments expressing his views on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Hardik Pandya reportedly had tweeted about Dr Ambedkar. On Wednesday, the Jodhpur court had ordered the police to file an FIR against the cricketer for his alleged derogatory comments against Dr Ambedkar. The tweet was dated December 26 last year. However, he had deleted that tweet later. Reportedly, Pandya had written, “Which Ambedkar??? The one who drafted a cross law and constitution or the one who spread the disease called reservation in the country.”

Terming his comments an insult to the Ambedkar and hurtful to the community, D R Meghwal-the petitioner moved an application against Pandya. Meghwal said that he came to know about Pandya’s comments through social media in January this year. He further added, “It appeared as an attempt to spread hatred and create division in the society.”

Terming his statement as a “crass act”, Meghwal has also demanded a suitable punishment for Hardik Pandya.

Meghwal also claims to be a member of Rashtriya Bhim Sena- a group that voices the issues of the downtrodden communities.
