According to an ED official, the police has registered a case claiming “International plot” to defame the state government against a website.
Hathras| As the probe agencies begin investigating Hathras case, the Yogi government has alleged that in the guise of this incident, an attempt was being made to incite riots and communal discord in the state. It has also claimed that funds were being raised by creating websites and other platforms that tried to incite violence along caste lines. Now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case in this regard.
According to sources, preliminary investigation by the ED has revealed that 50 crore rupees fund was received from Mauritius to spread ethnic violence under the garb of Hathras scandal. At present, the investigation in this case is going on. The UP Govt has extended the time given to SIT to complete the probe and present the status report. Today, the security outside the house of the victim was beefed up and SIT arrived to investigate the matter. On the other hand, the state govt has transferred the case to CBI. All the 20 odd FIRs registered by the state have also been transferred to the central investigating agency.

The UP police claim that false information was spread on social media platforms about Hathras. Due to which an attempt was made to spoil the atmosphere and instigate violence along caste lines. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also accused the opposition of spoiling the atmosphere.
The alleged gang rape and torture of a 20-year-old Dalit woman in UP’s Hathras had sparked big controversy last week. The nationwide outpour happened when the Police cremated the body of the victim overnight allegedly without the consent of the family. Both the charges have been denied by the state police.
