Chandigarh| The hype over Surgical Strike carried out by the Indian Army across the Line of Control (LOC) was not needed, said the Retired general DS Hooda. Talking to a news agency, Hooda said that the hype over Surgical Strike was “too much”.

Talking about the need for a surgical strike, Hooda said, “I do think there was too much hype over it. The strike was important & we had to do it.” However, he opined that the matter has been politicised. “Now how much should it have been politicised, whether it was right or wrong is something that should be asked to the politicians,” Hooda said.

After the terrorist attack at Uri, the Indian army had carried out a surgical strike on the terrorist launch pads on the other side of the border.
