The Indian Army said that efforts are on to normalize the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), while China is indulging in provocative actions.
Ladakh| The Chinese soldiers who had inched closer to Line of Actual Control in Ladakh have been caught on camera carrying weapons and ammunition. Pictures that have been doing rounds on social media show a group of Chinese soldiers carrying spears, automatic rifles and stick machetes. The pictures have come to light a day after both Chinese and Indian soldiers came within shooting range at Line of Actual Control. There were reports of firing at LAC as well.
China’s Western Theater Command of PLA accused Indian soldiers of firing first when the PLA troops were patrolling near LAC. However, the Indian army in its statement rejected the claim and said that the PLA soldiers were coming close to the Indian position. According to reports which cited sources, despite several warnings, PLA soldiers did not retreat after which the Indian soldiers fired warning shots i.e. fired in air. The Chinese troops then went back.

The Indian Army said that efforts are on to normalize the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), while China is indulging in provocative actions. In its statement, the army said that none of its soldiers crossed the LAC nor did they indulge in the firing. The army has also said that while we want to maintain peace, we will protect the sovereignty and borders of the country at any cost. According to the army, the Western Theater Command of China has tried to mislead the people of their country and the rest of the world by making false statements.
Meanwhile, after Defence minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S jaishankar will meet his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Moscow.
