“India Wants To Overthrow My Govt” : Nepal PM KP Oli Alleges

KP Oli said, “In 2016 I signed a trade agreement with China. After this I was removed from power, but this time it will not happen.”

Kathmandu| Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has alleged that India wants to topple his government. According to Oli, a conspiracy is being hatched in Delhi and Kathmandu ro overthrow him. Oli’s allegations have come at a time when his leanings towards China are being severely criticized in the ruling power alliance. Opponents have two charges on Oli. First, the government handed over a large part of Nepal’s land to China. Second, the government failed to deal with Covid-19.

According to a Nepalese newspaper ‘The Himalayan Times’ – KP Oli is facing tremendous opposition in the Alliance. Instead of listening to and silencing critics, he is now trying to play the India card. According to the newspaper report- Oli has said that India is plotting to topple his government. This is because he included Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani in the map of Nepal through constitutional amendment.

During a program on Sunday, Oli said, “You must have heard in the Indian media that I will be removed from the post in the next one or two weeks. There is a lot of talk about this. The Indian government machinery is also active. ” Oli said, “In 2016 I signed a trade agreement with China. After this I was removed from power, but this time it will not happen.”

His own party’s MP Ram Kumari Jhankari said that the Nepalese Prime Minister is making baseless allegations on India and this is a tactic to divert people’s attention from their failures. KP Oli is considered a staunch supporter of China. Pushp Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the leader of the other faction of the party, has been opposing them on many issues. The party meeting lasted from Wednesday to Saturday. The Prime Minister attended it only one day.
