Junaid Sehrai, son of Hurriyat chairman, killed in Srinagar encounter

The killing of Junaid, a top Hizb commander, comes after its operational Chief Riyaz Naikoo was killed in south Kashmir in the early May.

Srinagar| Junaid Sehrai, son of separatist conglomerate Tehreek-e-Hurriyat’s chairman Ashraf Sehrai, was among two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants killed in a gunfight with security forces in old city Srinagar on Tuesday.

A cop was also killed while another cop and three paramilitary CRPF personnel, including an officer, were injured in the battle which broke out during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday at congested Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar.
