Kashmir: Terrorist Release Video of Encounter, Police Says “Glorifying” Terrorism

Jammu and Kashmir Police took cognizance of the video and tweeted, “Terrorists want to glorify terrorism by releasing videos, but they cannot.”

 

Baramulla| A video of Monday’s encounter in Kariri in Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir is being shared on social media. It was released by the terrorists on Friday. However, the police termed it a glorification of terrorism. Four terrorists were killed, while 5 soldiers were martyred in the encounter which is shown in the video.

In this video which has gone viral, it can be seen a terrorist appears first, after which he moves ahead with a rifle in his hand and shoots. In between, he also chants Allah Hu Akbar. At the end of the video, a song plays. Reportedly, this video was made by one of the slain terrorists. This encounter lasted for about 72 hours.

Jammu and Kashmir Police took cognizance of the video and tweeted, “Terrorists want to glorify terrorism by releasing videos, but they cannot. We responded by taking action and killed the four terrorists.”

In this encounter, Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists Sajjad Haider, Taimur Khan, Abu Usman, Nasir and Ali Bhai were attacked. Among them, Timur and Ali were foreign terrorists. Abu Osman is seen in the video.

Sajjad was among the top-10 terrorists of the valley. He was involved in some terrorist incidents in 2016. He was as active in the valley as Burhan Wani, a terrorist killed in 2016. Sajjad was involved in the conspiracy to assassinate former BJP chief Wasim Bari and his father and brother, while Usman killed them. These murders were committed in Bandipora in July.

CRPF party was attacked by militants on 1 July in Sopore town of Baramulla district. A young man was killed in this and 3 were injured. A civilian caught in the firing of terrorists was also killed. He was accompanied by a 3-year-old grandson. The child was safely taken away by Security Forces.
