Life imprisonment for all five convicts in 2013 Bodh Gaya bomb blast

New Delhi: The Special NIA court on Friday ordered life imprisonment to all the five convicts in July 7 2013, Bodh Gaya bomb blast.

Umer Siddiqui, 39, Azaharuddin Qureshi, 25, Imtiyaz Ansari alias Alam, 35, Haider Ali alias Black Beauty, 30, and Mujibullah Ansari, 28 are all been sentenced to life in prison by the NIA Patna Court.

All the 5 convicts are also accused of in the Gandhi Maidan serial blasts during the Hunkar Rally Narendra Modi in Patna on October 27, 2013. Five persons, including two Buddhist monks, were injured in the blasts as 10 IED out of 13 exploded near the Mahabodhi Mahavihara.

Sources claim that one of the IEDs was planted below an ambulance for inflicting maximum damage. Four IEDs exploded in and around the shrine, including one near the Bodhi tree, while six went off in its one-kilometre radius.
