Modi Has Failed As PM: IMA National Vice President Dr Navjot Dahiya

“While the medical fraternity is trying hard to make people understand mandatory Covid norms, PM Modi did not hesitate to address the big political rallies tossing all Covid norms in the air,” said Dr. Dahiya

In a stinging letter on Monday, the national Vice President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dr. Navjot Dahiya has held Prime Minister Narendra Modi responsible for the failed handling of the coronavirus pandemic and called him a “super-spreader” of the virus after irresponsibly organizing big political rallies in poll-bound states and even allowing Kumbh Mela during such a serious situation.

Dr. Dahiya also criticized PM Modi for allowing the Kumbh Mela to be held.

According to The Tribune, the IMA National Vice President said “While the medical fraternity is trying hard to make people understand mandatory Covid norms, PM Modi did not hesitate to address the big political rallies tossing all Covid norms in the air.”

“The scarcity of medical oxygen has become the reason for the death of many patients in every part of the country against the fact that several projects for installing the oxygen are still pending with the Union Government for clearance, but no heed was given to such an important need by the Modi government,” he added.

Dr. Dahiya also accused the Prime Minister of botching up India’s fight against the virus since January 2020, when the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was detected in India. He noted that at that time when swift action was expected, the Prime Minister was busy organizing and attended a one-lakh strong function in Gujarat for former US President Donald Trump.

“Now, when the second wave of Covid-19 is yet to reach its peak, the entire health system is failing as PM did not take any step to strengthen it during the entire year,” he said.

Meanwhile, India reported 3,23,144 cases and 2771 deaths in the last 24 hours.
