‘Money Isn’t The Problem’, Arvind Kejriwal Tells Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, in a tweet, had attacked the Delhi government saying it has a “massive ego” and thus it’s not accepting the offer for funds made by Gambhir.

New Delhi| Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday pointed out to ex-cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir that the national capital presently does not need funds but Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for the health workers fighting on the front to tackle coronavirus.

Gautam Gambhir, in a tweet, had attacked the Delhi government saying it has a “massive ego” and thus it’s not accepting the offer for funds made by Gambhir.

CM Kejriwal and Gambhir exchanged words on Twitter after the BJP Parliamentarian pledged another 50 Lakhs his MP funds to the Delhi government in the fight against the rapidly spreading coronavirus. He hit out at Cm Kejriwal and his party saying they have “massive egos” for not accepting the funds offered by him.

“CM @ArvindKejriwal & his Deputy say funds are needed. Though their massive egos didn’t allow them to take 50 L from my LAD fund earlier, I pledge 50 L more so that innocents don’t suffer. 1 crore would at least solve urgent need for masks & PPE kits for days Hope they prioritize Delhi,” Gautam Gambhir said in a tweet.

CM Arvind Kejriwal responded to the tweet within an hour. Kejriwal said that his government is willing to buy PPEs if the East Delhi MP helps them source it from somewhere.

“We would be grateful if you could help us get them from somewhere immediately, the Delhi government will buy them. Thank you,” the Delhi Chief Minister replied to Gautam Gambhir.

The national capital has reported over 500 cases till Monday. 7 people have been reported dead because of the infection of coronavirus.

The lack of protective gear for doctors, nurses, health workers is reported from many corners of the country.
