No expenditure on PM Modi’s fitness video: PMO

New Delhi | The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in reply to an RTI query said that no expenditure was made for the production of the fitness video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June.

PMO said, “No expenditure has been incurred on the filming of the video posted by Shri Narendra Modi. The video was filmed at the prime minister’s residence.” It added that the videography was done by the cameraman of the PMO and that nothing has been procured for the video.

Earlier on June 13, PM Modi while accepting the fitness challenge of Cricketer Virat Kholi posted a video on his twitter timeline. PM Modi was seen stretching on a rock, walking barefoot on a narrow path and doing yoga, wearing a black jogging dress. Posting a video PM Modi wrote,”Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature – Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice.”

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had alleged that Rs 35 lakh was spent to build this video, but the government rejected this claim.
