New Delhi| Restrictions have been imposed on New Year celebrations in the country’s capital. According to the new rule, no more than 5 people will be able to gather at public places. There will also be no programs on New Year celebrations. Night curfew will remain in effect from 11 am on 31 December 2020 to 6 am on 1 January 2021. Apart from this, the same restrictions will remain from 11 pm on 1 January to 6 am on 2 January. Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, who is also the chairman of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, has issued this order.
What did the order say?
According to the order of the Chief Secretary, “The situation in Delhi has been thoroughly reviewed and given the threat of mutant UK strain of Covid-19 virus and local cases of Covid in Delhi, it is understood that there is a high risk of the virus spreading from ceremonies and public celebrations on the New Year. This may undermine efforts to stop the chain of transmission of Covid-19 cases in Delhi. ”

The Chief Secretary made it clear that there will be no restriction on the interstate and intrastate movement of people and goods during the curfew. This means that you will be able to get out but not more than 5 people together. Apart from Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Rajasthan have also imposed night curfew.
